Il prossimo mercoledi 16 giugno, insieme a rappresentanti e simpatizzanti dei partiti socialisti francese, spagnolo, Tedesco ed austriaco, inaugureremo il primo European Forum for Democratic Politics and Social Thought. Il Forum sara uno spazio di riflessione sul futuro delle sinistre europee, viste da una prospettiva statunitense. Ci vedremo una volta ogni due mesi per discutere insieme delle sfide e dei comuni alle democrazie europee, cosi come del significato del nostro contributo dagli Stati Uniti.

Presently, conservative and liberal governments lead a vicious attack on Europe as a political player and on the last bastions of social security in Europe through their “austerity programs”. These programs risk to further deepen the crisis, making European societies even more unequal and contributing to higher unemployment. Progressive European political forces need to work more closely together to fight these tendencies and safe the European idea and vision.
